Random objects are mysteriously turning gold in 'Fortnite' ahead of the Chapter 2, Season 2 release. ... [+] Here's where to find them for yourself.
Credit: Epic Games / Paul TassiWell, after 125 days of Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 1 weâre finally in the last stretches of this endless season. Things are actually starting to happen.
This includes Epic Games changing the images on their social media accounts. The âFâ is now a golden âFâ in the studioâs Twitter profile pic. The Twitter banner is now of 8ball and Scratch with a golden hand print on top of them. Behold:

Praise the sun!
Credit: Epic GamesI donât know about you but this looks like an undead version of Knight Solaire, one of Dark Soulsâ most famous characters. Heâs responsible for the phrase âPraise the sun!â and wore a white tunic with a red sun on its breast. His special emote was to raise his hands to the sides just so:
Knight Solaire praising the sun.

Epic also released the first teaser image for Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 2 on Twitter this morning. Once again, the golden hand appears along with next seasonâs start-date and some mysteriously blacked out words. The image says âTransmission Intercepted.â
In any case, along with all these golden teasers and clues, items in the game itself are starting to turn gold, just like the couch Harley Quinn is looking at in the picture at the top of this post. So far itâs all mundane items like couches and television sets that are succumbing to Midasâs touch.

If you want to see them for yourself, thatâs where to go. Itâs possible that the golden epidemic will spread. Indeed, it seems likely that as the week goes on, more and more items will go gold, beginning here at the epicenter and gradually spreading forth.
Golden toilet.

Normally this kind of thing would have started weeks ago. Perhaps a golden toilet here, a golden couch there. Bit by bit as the season unfolded.
Not so this season. This season nothing happened until now. But it does appear that the EGO organizationâs rival, ALTER, is involved. Some clash of secret, behind-the-scenes agencies is unfolding. Often this is the case in Fortnite. The Ice King vs the Fire King, the Super Heroes vs the Villains and so forth. Alter vs Ego makes sense, especially given this seasonâs Battle Pass.
In any case, stay tuned to Forbes Games this week as Epic releases more and more teasers and clues. Weâll cover them all here. (Also follow me on Twitter, Facebook and my blog!)
Golden boxes.
Credit: Epic Games / Paul TassiThe next season drops in just a few days which is excitingâ"though I admit that I and many others are probably feeling a little burned out and not as hyped as we would have been normally for the next season. Epic kind of dropped the ball on this one, unfortunately.
Hopefully the next season is really awesome with some cool map changes, good challenges and a less confusing Battle Pass. I just donât want locked challenges which are so ridiculously lame.
