‘Fortnite’ Chapter 2, Season 2 Teasers: All The Phone Numbers And Secret Messages

It’s been a long, long road, but we’re almost here at Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 2. Hints are starting to come in, not in the form of the usual Twitter teasers that we usually see, but in the form of real world posters with phone numbers on them, a kind of simple ARG where people can call in to get tiny clues about what’s happening with the upcoming season. We first started to see these in Brazil over the weekend, but now there are a whole bunch all over the world. Fortnite News has done the work of compiling everything we’ve seen so far, so let’s take a look:

Yes sir, the agents were called. Card to access the safe purchased.

Agency recruitment drive is a go. Happy hunting agents, oil rig operation is a go.

During ID scanning, access denied, agency communication was interrupted.

Hiding places were detected, traces were found in the Agent E region, the dormant time was over.

Acolyte spot, agent you are mobilizing.

Take together, they form a string of messages almost like what we had towards the end of last season, with the tapes left by the scientist all over the map: it’s a kind of near-sense, just to the side of a cohesive narrative. If you’re trying to find actual clues you’ll come up short.

Here’s what we can parse, however: everything revolves around some sort of shadowy organization called “The Agency”, likely somehow related to the E.G.O. organization and that mysterious, closed door on the map. They’re looking for “acolytes”, of what we can’t say. We don’t know if they’re good or bad, but they’re certainly menacing. And, outside of these messages, Season 2, Chapter 2 appears to have a gold motif. Considering the “agent” language, it makes me think of James Bond’s Goldfinger more than anything else.

In addition to the phone numbers, “The Agency” is now hanging around on the official Discord, but you get banned if you try to contact it.

We’ll see if more numbers pop up over the enxt three days, or if Epic starts to do the more traditional image-based teasers that it did for season in Chapter 1. This is not the company’s first ARGâ€"it hid a hamburger in the desert back in Chapter 1, Season 5, with another phone number that you could call. This is a lot more elaborate, however, so we’ll see if it’s intended to progress as we move closer to start date.
