New items, weapons, map changes and Deadpool leaks were all in today's v12.30 patch
Credit: Epic GamesThere was quite a bit of stuff to go through in Fortniteâs v12.30 patch today, and unfortunately Epic Games has stopped releasing official patch notes.
This means we canât really get into the nitty gritty of todayâs big update. But we can highlight some of the changes and upcoming changes, as well as the leaks.
New ItemsCrash Pad
Two new items were added in todayâs update. The first is the Crash Pad. This is an item, rather than a trap, that you can toss down and use to launch high into the air. The more times you bounce on it, the higher you go. And you donât take fall damage when you land, meaning this could be a very valuable item for builders.

Pretty cool!
Kingsman Umbrella
The second new item is the Kingsman Umbrella. This is not a reward umbrella/glider. Itâs a weapon thatâs actually quite similar to the light sabers that were introduced last season.

Hereâs how it works:
Very much like the light saber but far more stylish. A gentleman always duels with an umbrella.
Deadpool LeaksSeveral new Deadpool items leaked in the v12.30 patch as well.
These include a second, grotesque Deadpool Unmasked skin which youâll be able to unlock via the week 8 Deadpool challenges:

Thatâs when youâll be able to finally get the Deadpool skin, assuming youâve completed all the challenges so far.

There were almost certainly other tweaks and changes in the update but without official patch notes weâre mostly in the dark. Oh well. Cool to see Epic continue to add fun new items and the whole Deadpool thingâ"while weird and largely age-inappropriateâ"is fun.
