Fortnite’s Christmas Event Leaks: Here Are The Challenges For The Big Winterfest Event

It shouldn’t come as any particular sort of surprise that Fortnite is going to have a big ol’ Christmas/holiday event. Epic sort of established the format last year with it’s 14 Days of Fortnite, and now it looks like we’re getting something similar this year. The game isn’t quite as ascendant as it was this time in 2018, but that was bound to happen: there’s still loot on offer as the game transitions to winter with a light dusting of snow over the island along with some holiday-themed decorations. It’s Winterfest here in Fortnite, even if the event has yet to formally begin.

Luckily for us, there are always dataminers to tell us what’s in store. We’re getting another 14 Days of Fortnite-style set of challenges, and credit to HypeX for finding out what’s coming:

Search holiday stockings in the Winterfest Cabin

  • Stoke a Campfire
  • Eliminations with an Unvaulted Weapon
  • Hide Inside a Sneaky Snowman in Different Matches
  • Warm Yourself by the Fireplace in the Winterfest Cabin
  • Dance at Holiday Trees in Different Named Locations
  • Search a Chest within 60 Seconds After Landing from the Battle Bus
  • Use Presents
  • Open Frozen Loot
  • Deal Damage to an Opponent with a Lump of Coal
  • (TBA)
  • Search Ice Boxes
  • Light a Frozen Firework found on the beaches in Sweaty Sands, Craggy Cliffs or Dirty Docks
  • Search Ammo Boxes at The Workshop, Shiver Inn or Ice Throne

    • Clearly there are some winter-specific things in here: a bunch of ice-themed things, from Frozen Fireworks and Frozen Loot to Ice Boxes. It also looks like the Sneaky Snowman will be making its return alongside a new lump of coal item, and we’re also getting some unvaulted weapons like we have in the past, though there are a lot more to choose from now. There are also new locations that showed up in the game today, and some will be involved in the upcoming challenges.

    That’s it for now, but we’ll see if there are any more details yet to come. It’s a time of reflection, giving, and limited-time video game events for all. Winterfest will likely start early next week.
