‘Fortnite’ Gas Pump Locations: Where To Deal Damage By Shooting Exploding Gas Pumps

Fortnite seems to be very proud of the fact that they have put something in the game that video games have been doing since uh, the beginning of time, practically. Now when you shoot gas pumps in the game, they blow up! And damage people! And now that’s been made into a challenge. Players are being asked to deal any damage to opponents by shooting exploding gas pumps.

This…may be a bit of a hard challenge. It’s incredibly contextual, as you not only have to be near a gas pump (there aren’t that) many on the new Fortnite map, but you also need an enemy to be standing near one long enough to have it blow up and hurt them. That’s a bit of a tall order.

But first you need to find the gas pumps. I have spent the morning tracking down the locations of a bunch of gas stations on the new map that should help you with the challenge. I will not claim this is every gas station or pump on the map, but it should be more than enough to give you at least a few spots to camp out.

We have:

A gas pump directly west of Holly Hedges

A gas pump in the north east of Pleasant Park

A gas pump in the north east of Salty Springs

A gas pump near the bridge south of Craggy Cliffs

A gas pump near the bridge east of Frenzy Farm

And as I said, there may be more. Feel free to tell me where they are on Twitter and I’ll add them later. I couldn’t really find any in the south or south east, but I’m sure there are some.

I think your best bet here is going to be the gas stations that are inside Salty Springs or Pleasant Park, because those are hot drop zones with a lot of people, while these other locations are a bit more remote. Ideally, you want to find a bot and lure them over to a gas station to help get this done, but bot wrangling is not exactly the easiest job ever, so I’m not sure how much that will help over natural combat.

When you shoot a gas tank, once you get it down to zero HP, it will catch fire then explode a few seconds later, and I don’t think there’s any way to make it instant. The person has to be decently close to it, and one tank blowing up usually causes a chain reaction that makes the others blow up. I’m not sure if that will count, but hopefully. It does about 30 damage to players, but again, in this challenge the amount of damage doesn’t matter. It’s just tagging them with an explosion to any degree.
