'Fortnite' Season 10 the End Live Event Countdown - When Does Season 11 Start?

Fortnite Season 10 is nearly over, and it all comes to a head with the End live event on Sunday. What will happen when the Visitor launches his rocket from Dusty Depot? What time does the Season 11 countdown begin? Read the full details below in this special preview of what's to come.

When does the Fortnite live event start?

Fortnite's the End live event is set to take place at 2 p.m. EDT October 13.

Within the hour prior to the start time, all players will be funneled into a special lobby called "The End." In this event-focused environment, player movement and actions will be restricted to allow fans to watch the rocket launch take place. As long as you give yourself a handful of extra minutes to prepare, and Epic's servers don't crash under the weight of traffic, interested parties should be able to witness everything as it happens. In the event technical difficulties are experienced, it's possible Epic will offer additional viewing opportunities once the festivities have concluded.

What do we know about Fortnite's the End event?

Unlike the Final Showdown live event for Season 9, there is a decent amount of information gathered by spoiler sleuths about the final moments of Season 10 and the start of Season 11. It goes without saying that these datamined details contain SPOILERS, so those who wish to maintain the surprise should look elsewhere. As with all leaks, however, this description may differ to varying degrees from the true events.

While the contents of the End event haven't been fully explained, leakers have deduced that, once the clock strikes 2 p.m. EDT, the Visitor's rocket will launch and trigger some sort of havoc around the Island. During that time the Visitor Recording tapes collected during this week's Out of Time challenges will play. Here's a transcript of what to expect alongside audio of the dialogue that surfaced on Thursday.

"Activate the Beacon precisely the moment this timer reaches nothing. The Zero Point must be contained once more. If they are correct, it will be the end. I speculate that no one calculated the formation of the Island. That interdimensional matter collisions would resolve rather than push. Now that I witness it first hand, it's obvious that Pinching alone made it inevitable. The Unintelligible Theorem was a success! I...us...you arrived outside the Loop at the exact moment of expansion. This effectively paused the singularity, giving us time to create the devices needed to synchronize the Junction.

"What I didn't factor was that the only way to trigger the device was from within the Loop. Thus this hasty and primitive recording. And why now you... I find myself Looped. What the seven of us are attempting is very risky. I suspect they are not the only ones watching. But it must be done or we lose the Bridge forever. When I hear this again will it help me remember? Or once Looped will I be just as muted as the others? No matter. It seems the lengthy precautions worked."

Once the final words have been spoken, players will be pulled into the Zero Point at Loot Lake before being given one last look at the Island that spawned Battle Royale as we know it. It's presumed players will immediately be dropped onto a new map, but the actual rollout process for Season 11 still remains somewhat unclear. There may or may not be additional server downtime associated with the changes.

Fortnite is available now on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC and mobile. The End live event begins at 2 p.m. EDT October 13.
